Making plans

Sometimes, a quick and easy project is all that you need while your brain is busy working on something complicated. At other times, something quick and easy is just all that you need.

My Birthday Bolero is finished! I am not sure I want to show you how it turned out, since I am not fully content with the shapeless fit. Just look at it. Is it not a little big? I love the colour, the gauge was right on the spot and maybe I was a wee bit sloppy with the finishing. It must be the belly.

I tried it on my MIL. It fits her perfectly, which only adds to my confusion. She asked to have it wrapped for christmas. So, I guess I already have the first chistmas present ready for delivery.

A quick knitter could have had this bolero finished in two days. I do not have much knitting time, so it took me a little longer. But since it was such a quick knit, I might knit a another one in a smaller size.

I do have some more quick projects to show you, a beret and a headband, I just need to find some time to take a photo while the daylight is still bright enough. Have a nice day!

It was my birthday a few days ago and I had slept way too little. There was a full moon that night and I would have slept through anything but a wide-eyed four-year-old needing a little company in the moon light. I get easily irritated when someone wakes me up in the middle of the night, in fact I think I stormed out of bed to get some water and a biscuit. It is not a streak in my personality that I am particularly proud of. When I came back into Tyras bedroom I saw her standing beside the window gazing at the sky. She did not say anything. She just held out her arms for a hug. My anger simply melted.

Autumn is definitely in the air in Stockholm, with colder crisper days. My office at the museum is cold and I need something to warm my back. So I started a quick bolero which now looks like this,

A quick shrug

but will shortly turn into this:

And lastly, many thanks to lausse for this wonderful and funny idea; a knitted Leia wig! Why not? Wink
